Some projects start with a plan. Others start because something broke, an idea would not leave me alone, or I wanted to understand a system well enough to build it myself. This is the working index for both kinds.
Projects are part result, part record.
I use The New Atlas to keep track of what I am building and what I learn along the way. A project does not have to be finished to belong here. In fact, the troubleshooting, redesigns, mistakes, and changes in direction are often the most useful parts to document.
Home Lab & Network Rebuild
Reworking the home network around better segmentation, security, visibility, and easier troubleshooting. The project ties together the Omada network, Proxmox hosts, self-hosted services, VPN access, identity, monitoring, and the documentation needed to understand how everything fits together.
The New Atlas
This site is a project in its own right: part personal home on the web, part project log, part learning space. The goal is to keep it useful, easy to evolve, and visually consistent while moving away from unnecessary page-builder complexity.
Home Automation
Experiments that make everyday routines more useful: smart lighting, voice assistants, scheduled routines, connected devices, and the question of how much automation actually helps before it becomes complexity for its own sake.
Rack, Monitoring & Status Display
Organizing the physical rack while improving the view into everything running inside it. The direction includes rotating dashboards for network health, Proxmox, monitoring, DNS, firewall status, and a simple project-status view that makes the lab easier to understand at a glance.
Finished is useful. Progress is interesting.
This index will change as projects move from ideas to experiments, from experiments to working systems, and occasionally back to the drawing board.
